3。5/5Bakemonogatari Volume 2 continues to be relatively slow but does continue to explore an interesting world。 The artwork is beautiful and there are some incredibly intricate full page spreads that demonstrate the artist's skill。 This volume feels partially like a recap of volume one while also introducing a new character that the story will follow next。 I am interested to continue this series but I think I need to temper my expectations and understand that this is going to be a slower series。 3。5/5Bakemonogatari Volume 2 continues to be relatively slow but does continue to explore an interesting world。 The artwork is beautiful and there are some incredibly intricate full page spreads that demonstrate the artist's skill。 This volume feels partially like a recap of volume one while also introducing a new character that the story will follow next。 I am interested to continue this series but I think I need to temper my expectations and understand that this is going to be a slower series。 。。。more

hard for me to treat this as independent of the anime， butI like how more explicit this comic adaptation is of the psychological nature of the the world and characters is narrative-wiseI also appreciate how the characters have similar appearances to the anime but many of them （particularly Hanekawa in my mind） have a unique beauty in their look and facial expressions。being a comic， certain asides and self-deprecations and moments are allowed to linger in single key panes rather than the fast elu hard for me to treat this as independent of the anime， butI like how more explicit this comic adaptation is of the psychological nature of the the world and characters is narrative-wiseI also appreciate how the characters have similar appearances to the anime but many of them （particularly Hanekawa in my mind） have a unique beauty in their look and facial expressions。being a comic， certain asides and self-deprecations and moments are allowed to linger in single key panes rather than the fast elusive visual motifs of the show。 It's interesting to see different ways the Brechtian nature of the storytelling comes across in different mediums。The story is as classic， sweet， and problematic as ever， and the art holds up to the beauty， detail， and dynamism of the anime 。。。more

Disturbing， that’s all I can think of this manga。 What’s the point of including UNDERWEAR shots of a gradeschooler in your manga？ It’s so disgusting and absolutely wrong。 I do not recommend this book; it jokes about the main character being attracted to a CHILD。

3。5* about halfway through I almost gave up。 I wanted to toss it across the room。 It wasn’t making sense。 Suddenly it clicked。 They explained more and some things came together。 There is a timeline in the back which helps a lot too。

In this installment of the Monogatari series， the conclusion of the Hitagi Crab and head first into the Mayoi Snail。 Another flawless volume， saw more of Hanekawa and introduced Hachikuji characters。 Explained more of Araragi’s story as well and you just have to love the playfulness of the dialogue while still bringing a compelling and interesting story along。 Superb， intriguing， wondrous series that is Bakemonogatari。 There isn’t anything like it that I’ve read so far！

Continuing the Bakemonogatari story from the 1st light novel in manga form。I'll be honest with everyone and say that Oh！ Great is one of my favorite mangaka out there offering all of us a semi realistic world balancing cute， sexy， and scary art styles that match the strangely fascinating tale of aberrations gone wild in the Bakemonogatari story。 This manga covers the end of Hitagi Senjogahara's aberration encounter helping us （and Koyomi Araragi） insight in how she was taken by a crab that took Continuing the Bakemonogatari story from the 1st light novel in manga form。I'll be honest with everyone and say that Oh！ Great is one of my favorite mangaka out there offering all of us a semi realistic world balancing cute， sexy， and scary art styles that match the strangely fascinating tale of aberrations gone wild in the Bakemonogatari story。 This manga covers the end of Hitagi Senjogahara's aberration encounter helping us （and Koyomi Araragi） insight in how she was taken by a crab that took away her pain as well as her weight。 She and Araragi are a fantastic duo of misfits who will affect many of the tales yet to come。 Afterwards Araragi discovers a lost snail in a tale about Mayoi Hachikuji where he once again finds himself knee deep in a world separate from the normal waking world。 If you like strange stories and have not read the light novels （or even if you have） dive on in as Oh！ Great captures the feel of the book in fantastic a fantastic display of artwork （<---Once again kind of one of my favorites lol。） 。。。more

Bakemonogatari feels both different and familiar。 It's different because of the Japanese sensibilities that shape the work and inform the characters。 It's a story almost as old as human existence。 It's about the supernatural and the divine breaching into the mundane， and the need for a shaman or a catalyst to restore the imbalance。 Sometimes， bearing witness to the story that unfolds is enough。 Thus it feels familiar to the other works I've enjoyed， Gaiman's The Sandman， Tan and Baldisimo's Tres Bakemonogatari feels both different and familiar。 It's different because of the Japanese sensibilities that shape the work and inform the characters。 It's a story almost as old as human existence。 It's about the supernatural and the divine breaching into the mundane， and the need for a shaman or a catalyst to restore the imbalance。 Sometimes， bearing witness to the story that unfolds is enough。 Thus it feels familiar to the other works I've enjoyed， Gaiman's The Sandman， Tan and Baldisimo's Trese， and the Hellblazer John Constantine。If you enjoy any of the works mentioned above， you'll probably enjoy this as well。 5 stars。 。。。more

Continues Hitagi's story from Volume 1 before bleeding into Mayoi's story beginnings。 By the end we get reintroduced to Hanekawa and her troubled family situation。 Interesting visuals。。。there's a brief interlude referencing Araragi's first encounter with Shinobu as detailed in the Kizumonogatari films as well。 The character designs are reminiscent of the anime， but are stylized and unique to the manga in other respects。 The characterizations are familiar & on point。 Hitagi is cool and aloof but Continues Hitagi's story from Volume 1 before bleeding into Mayoi's story beginnings。 By the end we get reintroduced to Hanekawa and her troubled family situation。 Interesting visuals。。。there's a brief interlude referencing Araragi's first encounter with Shinobu as detailed in the Kizumonogatari films as well。 The character designs are reminiscent of the anime， but are stylized and unique to the manga in other respects。 The characterizations are familiar & on point。 Hitagi is cool and aloof but warming to Araragi and playfully suggests a willingness to be his girlfriend。 Mayoi is just as bratty and annoying as in the anime。 Hanekawa is faithful in characterization as well。 Some of the manga cells are actually even funnier than the anime。 All in all a worthwhile read for fans of the anime。 。。。more

Plus ou moins mitigée par rapport à ce second tome。 Disons que les défauts du premier sont encore plus accentués ici et que beaucoup de scènes du tome n'apportent absolument rien， sinon de mettre en avant des fantasmes libidineux。 Les blagues les plus courtes sont les meilleurs。。。 Et c'est franchement dommage car le manga a un sacré potentiel pourtant， mais on s'égare tellement au niveau de la narration que cela en devient compliqué。。。On va commencer par les choses qui fâchent。。。 et il y en a be Plus ou moins mitigée par rapport à ce second tome。 Disons que les défauts du premier sont encore plus accentués ici et que beaucoup de scènes du tome n'apportent absolument rien， sinon de mettre en avant des fantasmes libidineux。 Les blagues les plus courtes sont les meilleurs。。。 Et c'est franchement dommage car le manga a un sacré potentiel pourtant， mais on s'égare tellement au niveau de la narration que cela en devient compliqué。。。On va commencer par les choses qui fâchent。。。 et il y en a beaucoup。。。 Déjà la narration。 Il y a trop de destructuration。 On s'y perd， des informations tombent comme un cheveu sur le soupe， alors qu'elles ont quand même pas mal d'importance， et au niveau chronologie， je n'en parle même pas。。。 du coup， on a du mal à s'intéresser à l'intrigue principale qui concerne Mayoi tellement nous sommes perdus。 Je n'ai rien contre les flash-backs， loin de là， mais ils doivent être traités de façon intelligente et surtout rendre l'histoire fluide。 J'ai eu l'impression， à de nombreuses reprises， de me retrouver dans l'esprit de Araragi et que l'on suivait le fil de ses pensées décousues。。。 Quand on en voit un peu plus de son passage d'humain à vampire et que 1） il nous annonce qu'il y reviendra plus en détail plus tard， et 2） que cela dure deux minutes sans nous en apprendre rien au final。。。 NON ！ Surtout qu'il y avait un angle super intéressant， avec un fil conducteur entre les différents personnages。 Cette "harmonie" dont parle Araragi est quelque chose qui semble être primordial dans l'intrigue， et j'ai beaucoup aimé le principe qu'il définit mais il est tellement noyé qu'il n'en ressort pas quelque chose de concret。Le côté pervers。。。 Alors que Koyomi fasse quelques blagues pour déstabiliser Araragi， je veux bien， c'est son caractère。 Que cela dure plus d'un tiers du manga。 NON ！ Qu'on ajoute le côté pervers "pédophile" vis à vis de Mayoi。。。 Mais sérieux ！ Même si c'est tourné en dérision， non de chez non ！ Surtout qu'Araragi nous sort à deux reprises que ce n'est pas son genre， alors pourquoi le dessiner en faisant croire que oui。。。 Je sais que Oh！ Great est du genre à rendre très sexy certaines scènes， et à en jouer， mais il faut trouver ses limites。 Cela n'apporte rien dans le sens où le tout est lourd et trop long en plus。Mis à part cela。。。 J'ai beaucoup aimé comment la relation entre Araragi et Koyomi évolue。 On sent que l'adolescent arrive de mieux en mieux à comprendre la jeune femme et que quelque chose est en train de se créer。 Koyomi a encore beaucoup de mal， surtout qu'elle a un caractère assez spécial et qu'elle n'est pas vraiment branché "relations humaines"。 J'ai hâte de voir comment cela peut évoluer， et je n'attend pas forcément à une romance。 Un lien de confiance et d'amitié sincère serait déjà vraiment au top。 Araragi apparaît aussi différemment。 On voit ce qu'il a été avant sa transformation， et ce qu'il est devenu maintenant。 Ce n'est pas un ange， mais sa rencontre avec la vampire a été， de façon assez tordue， une bonne chose。 Il y a juste un passage qui n'est pas clairement expliqué le concernant qui a rajouté un "WTH" supplémentaire dont je me serai bien passé。。。L'arrivée de Mayoi est aussi une bonne idée。 Elle nous présente une autre "divinité" et aussi un autre soucis。 le fait que cela touche une enfant， rend aussi la chose plus dramatique， même si la grande partie de l'intrigue， dans ce second tome， est assez tourné en ridicule。 Mais il y a un lien qui se crée avec Araragi qui nous pousse à apprécier encore plus l'adolescent （quand on oublie le côté pervers。。。）。 Je trouve dommage， par contre qu'on avance pas plus dans le développement de cette rencontre。 Entre l'intervention de Koyomi et d'Hanekawa， ce sont les deux jeunes femmes qui finissent par monopoliser le tome。 Et si l'histoire de Koyomi n'en pâtit pas trop， celle d'Hanekawa par contre est noyée。。。 Et franchement， c'est dommage car depuis le début de l'histoire je suis assez curieuse de savoir ce qu'il lui est arrivé， et les auteurs ne nous donnent que des miettes de pain。。。Le troisième tome a intérêt à redresser la barre， même si j'ai des gros doutes que cela se fasse。 C'est dommage car， même si l'histoire est très sympa， ses nombreux défauts font qu'on passe à côté de pas mal de choses。 。。。more

Adaptar es transformar。 Pasar por el filtro de un nuevo autor， hacer pervivir a través de los cambios。 Sean buenos o malos。 Porque una obra no es sólo la técnica que se ha usado para crearla， sino también， especialmente， la idea que hay detrás de ella。 La cosa en sí， más allá de su realidad material。 Bakemonogatari， en su segundo tomo， parece haber encontrado ya su propio tono。 Más cerca de la adaptación al anime que de la novela original， aprovechando que ya tiene la referencia de toda la c Adaptar es transformar。 Pasar por el filtro de un nuevo autor， hacer pervivir a través de los cambios。 Sean buenos o malos。 Porque una obra no es sólo la técnica que se ha usado para crearla， sino también， especialmente， la idea que hay detrás de ella。 La cosa en sí， más allá de su realidad material。 Bakemonogatari， en su segundo tomo， parece haber encontrado ya su propio tono。 Más cerca de la adaptación al anime que de la novela original， aprovechando que ya tiene la referencia de toda la colección para trufar de detalles a la narración， Oh！Great hace algo que sólo sería posible en el formato cómic。 No tanto por hacer algo diferente con respecto del primer tomo como por pulir aquellas cosas que producían pequeñas disonancias en el conjunto。 Eso significa que el dibujo sigue siendo espléndido， que los diseños son de infarto y que ahora la composición de página， viñeta y plano ha mejorado sustancialmente， subordinándose con mucha más gracia a la narrativa。Por desgracia， lo que no son defectos， sino la propia voz artística de el autor， también se refuerza。La hipersexualización de los personajes femeninos， ya cuestionable en el anime， aquí llega a puntos rayano la obscenidad。 Algo incómodo cuando se trata de adolescentes， pero que ya alcanza el grado de plantearse cerrar el tomo cuando hace lo mismo con una niña de diez años。 Especialmente considerando que en el anime fue llevado con más tacto， incluso si existían también referencias a una hipotética pedofilia de Araragi， y en la novela original ni siquiera existe。 En cualquier caso， eso es lo que nos muestra el segundo tomo de Bakemonogatari。 Que para bien o para mal， no es la obra de Nisioisin: es la obra de Oh！Great。 Y eso es así tanto para lo bueno， su técnica absolutamente encomiable， como para lo malo， no tiene el perfecto pulso narrativo de Nisioisin y la sexualización de los personajes puede rozar lo inadmisible。 Es decir， nos guste o no， es una buena adaptación。 Porque， en última instancia， consigue lo que consiguen pocos: ser fiel a la idea original re-escribiendo la obra en los términos de un nuevo artista。 。。。more
